Director Instructional Technology Services- Andrean High School

PrintJULY 2016 – AUGUST 2018: Merrillville, Indiana
Goals at Andrean were to first establish a robust and reliable network, and then concentrate on the integration of technology into the instructional activities in the classrooms. Emphasis is on the importance of communication on how technology positively impacts instruction. Instructional Technology Services (ITS) is a newly created “service-oriented” department that maintains the technology infrastructure and provides training necessary for teachers to successfully use technology in their classroom. To that end, we have  established the ITS website where all things technology is communicated to the school.

Murphy firmly believes that the most overlooked aspect of school technology departments across the country is to provide teachers with the training to use instructional technology to increase the academic achievement of their students. In regards to his philosophy on working with teachers and staff, Murphy says, “Teachers and staff don’t care what you know, until they know that you care.”
